[March 1st, 2006] They That Wait...

Isaiah 40:31 "they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."

Wait means to remain until something expected happens.  You have to EXPECT God to move, EXPECT God to use you, EXPECT God to set you free. Only then does the waiting begin!

Learn to love that word... WAIT!  It’s almost painful at times just anticipating doing it.  No one likes to wait.  But, while we’re waiting, God is strengthening us and empowering us so we’ll be able to resist the attacks from the enemy.  What we think of as painstaking waiting is actually God giving us rest while He strengthens us and equips us for the battle that lies ahead.   We’re being restored. So if we become restless during our waiting, we’re actually hindering that which God is using to help us.

Often we become anxious while we’re waiting, again hindering what God is trying to do in our lives.  God’s word says in Phil 4:6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”  We should be praying and spending time in his presence while we’re waiting, which will strengthen us even more.  In His presence is fullness of joy, and the joy of the Lord is our strength.  Apart from Him there is no joy or strength.

What we choose to do while we wait determines how long we’ll have to wait.  So choose to enjoy the journey! God is equipping you for GREAT things!

[February 20th, 2006] The Truth!

You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.  You cannot be free without truth.  I was always begging God to miraculously set me free.  But I didn't want to face the truth.  Without truth there is no freedom.  Psalms 51:6 says, “You desire truth in my innermost being.”  Truth starts within your soul.  If you are not true beginning with yourself, your inner-most being, the very core of who you really are, you are not free.  The opposite of the truth is a lie, and God cannot dwell where there is a lie.  The same spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you.  He lives on the inside of you!  He cannot abide where there is sin.  How can He abide in you if you’re not walking in truth?  That's why the word says He desires truth in our inner-most being, where He desires to dwell. He can not dwell there until we are walking in truth.
